Investors from "Løvens Hule" Boost Intarsia Furniture

Intarsia Furniture has secured investments from the Danish version of "Shark Tank," known as "Løvens Hule" (The Lion's Den). The renowned investors have recognized the unique craftsmanship and timeless designs of Intarsia Furniture, contributing to the brand's growth in the Danish furniture market.

Since its revival in 2019, Intarsia Furniture, the Danish furniture manufacturer, has experienced significant success with its beautifully crafted handmade pieces. With the recent infusion of capital from two new investors through the TV program "Løvens Hule" (The Lion's Den), Intarsia Furniture is poised to strengthen its position in the market and expand its presence internationally.

Intarsia Furniture specializes in producing exquisite woodworking furniture from the 1950s, originally designed by Jørgen Aakjær Jørgensen (1920-2007). The company, initially established in 1948, ceased operations in 1982 when Jørgen Aakjær Jørgensen retired. In 2019, Jørgen's granddaughter, Nanna Aakjær Svendsen, revived her grandfather's legacy, bringing his Danish Modern masterpieces back into production.

Nanna Tamed the Lions

It was not a challenging task to convince the "lions" on the TV show Løvens Hule (The Lion's Den) that this was an attractive investment opportunity when Nanna presented Intarsia Furniture to the three investors. When Nanna left the den, she had the backing of not one but two significant lion investors – Tahir Siddique and Louise Herping Ellegaard.

Both Louise and Tahir were quickly captivated by Nanna's vision of bringing her grandfather's story and furniture classics to life, as well as her deep dedication to Danish design history.

"Tahir Siddique and I invest in people. It's beautiful to continue generations of heritage. The whole story around it, combined with Nanna's passion, is inspiring," says Louise Herping Ellegaard.

Heading Towards International Markets

The designs of Nanna Aakjær Svendsen's grandfather, which she is determined to carry forward, have previously sparked significant interest beyond Denmark's borders. With the two new investors on board, Intarsia Furniture is now seriously looking towards international markets. With her new strong team, Nanna will also work more purposefully to expand the company's product range, where the design DNA blends the classic with the modern.

"Tahir Siddique and Louise Herping Ellegaard bring not only capital but also valuable support and belief in our vision. Intarsia Furniture is now ready to reach new heights, and we look forward to continuing our journey with the stars of Løvens Hule by our side," says Nanna Aakjær Svendsen.

With her remarkable dedication, Nanna can now continue to produce her grandfather's timeless masterpieces with deep roots in Danish design history.

"Now, I'm a big family person myself, so I think it's incredibly nice that Nanna is bringing her grandfather's designs to life, which are timeless in every way. Now, Louise and I are here to help take Intarsia Furniture out into the big world – a task I look forward to!" says Tahir Siddique.
