Arcus Shelf is designed by Nanna Aakjær Svendsen, drawing great inspiration from her grandfather Jørgen Aakjær Jørgensen. The purpose of Arcus Shelf was to create a shelf that not only serves a function but also functions as a piece of art in itself.

The floating shelves share the same design language as Jørgen Aakjær’s works. A classic profile edge, inspired by Jørgen Aakjær’s Coffee Table No. 55 from the 1950s, adds a beautiful finish to the shelves. The organic shapes make Arcus Shelf a natural part of the wall when hung up.

Arcus Shelf is available in three different sizes and offers many uses. Use the shelf as a classic picture shelf, a practical storage shelf, or as a sculptural expression that interacts with the home’s other picture and wall art.

Arcus Shelf comes in the variants of white oiled oak, smoked stained oak, and natural oil oak.

It needed to be a shelf that could be hung easily and seamlessly, without compromising the overall design expression. Standard brackets did not match the visual coherence I wanted to achieve, so we developed our own brackets to ensure that both function and aesthetics came together harmoniously.”
