To ensure that the furniture from Intarsia remains beautiful and in optimal condition, it is important to maintain it regularly with oil. This helps protect the wood from dirt, moisture, and drying out, while preserving the wood’s natural beauty.

We recommend Guardian Oil Products:

Frequency

We recommend oiling your furniture a few times a year to maintain the health and appearance of the wood.

Extreme Environment: If your furniture is in direct sunlight or in a very dry room, the oil may dry out more quickly, and the wood may need oiling more frequently. Keep an eye out for any open or dry grain in the wood.

Daily Cleaning: If you regularly wipe down the furniture after use, it may be necessary to oil it more often to counteract dryness.

Procedure

Before Application: Clean the furniture thoroughly and ensure it is completely dry. If necessary, you can lightly sand with grain 180/220 or a sanding sponge. It is recommended to use Guardian Wood Cleaner before applying oil.

Test: Shake the product before use and always test on a non-visible area of the furniture before full application.

Application: Apply the oil with a soft, lint-free cloth or a soft sponge in an even, thin layer along the wood grain. It is recommended to treat the entire surface. If using oils with pigment, you can adjust the color intensity by wiping off excess oil until you achieve the desired shade.

Remove Excess Oil: After about 4 minutes, remove any excess oil with a dry cloth. If excess oil is not removed, it may result in the furniture continuing to feel sticky.

Drying: The final drying time is approximately 24 hours. Repeat the treatment if the wood does not appear saturated.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your Intarsia furniture remains in excellent condition and preserves its natural beauty over the years.
